The LSA: Applications open for MArch in Designing Architecture

Applications are now open for September 2026 entry to The London School of Architecture’s Part 2 MArch in Designing Architecture.
Part of the University of the Built Environment, The LSA offers a course that uniquely combines academic study with paid placements in leading architectural practices.
The first round of admissions interviews will begin on 30 January 2026, with further interview dates to be confirmed.
A public open evening will take place on 20 January 2026, giving prospective applicants the chance to learn more about the programme, meet staff and current students, and explore the school’s ‘earn while you learn’ model.
Social and environmental change
With Head of School Professor Lee Ivett at the helm, The LSA has strengthened its focus on equipping future architects to tackle sustainability challenges and deep-rooted inequalities in urban life.

Further, LSA students can tap into the University of the Built Environment‘s vast resources, enabling them to be part of a conversation within a global network of practitioners, academics, and built environment professionals who collectively ask how architecture can drive social and environmental change.

Current students and alumni describe the programme as both rigorous and highly supportive. Year 2 student Renee Wong said the LSA’s integrated placement model “challenged my theoretical thinking by exposing me simultaneously to real-world practice”, adding that it helped her remain creative while staying “firmly rooted in practical realities”.
LSA alumnus Elliott Wang said the school’s “socially minded, progressive and questioning form of design teaching” had stayed with him into both practice and teaching.
