Statement: Supporting the future of surveying apprenticeships

The University of the Built Environment has taken the difficult decision to pause new starts on the RICS-accredited Project Management pathway of its Chartered Surveyor apprenticeship, following longstanding challenges with apprenticeship achievement rates across the sector.
The pathway, which incorporates the BSc (Hons) Construction Management programme, will no longer accept new apprentices from Spring 2027. The decision takes immediate effect but will not affect current apprentices, including those who joined in Autumn 2026.
