Higher and degree apprenticeships offer a valuable path to gaining a qualification while simultaneously building valuable experience and skills in the workplace.

Our apprenticeships are designed as a collaborative partnership between you, your employer, and us your university. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours not only to excel in your End Point Assessment, the final milestone of your apprenticeship, but to continue with a fulfilling career journey within the built environment.

To begin the process of becoming an apprentice, you must be employed in a relevant role and have your employer’s full support.

Eligibility

To begin an apprenticeship programme with the University, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be employed full-time in a relevant role
  • Spend at least 50% of your time working and living in England
  • Not be enrolled in full-time education

Application process

I am an employer

If you are looking to hire an apprentice or use an apprenticeship to train existing staff then head to our Information for Employers webpage. If your employer has asked you to find out more about apprenticeships on their behalf, you’ll find everything you need on that page.

I am ready to apply

If you are currently employed within the built environment in England, then you will need your employer’s agreement as they will fund your apprenticeship through their levy Once agreed the process is:

  1. Your employer emails businessdevelopment@ube.ac.uk to determine whether the company is eligible for funding
  2. Once the funding is confirmed, our Apprenticeship Team will provide you with a bespoke application link. Please do not apply through the website.
  3. Our Admissions Team will review your application and get in touch to let you know if you’ve been accepted onto the apprenticeship programme.

I don’t have an employer

If you are looking to do an apprenticeship but are not currently employed, then you will need to search for an apprenticeship before applying with the University. There are a variety of ways to do this:

  • Apply via the government website Find an apprenticeship service
  • Search through the RICS job board
  • Reach out directly to companies that you would like to work for an express your interest in an apprenticeship
