Biography
Tony is passionate about the real estate sector, driven by a curiosity for the underlying factors that influence property markets, investment performance, and asset value. His focus centres on understanding the rationale behind development patterns, valuation methodologies, income capitalisation, occupancy impacts on value, and the role covenant strength plays in investment decision-making. His professional approach integrates valuation expertise with property management practice, emphasising strategic asset maintenance and improvement to preserve and enhance long-term asset value.
He began his professional career in 2007 as a Property Manager, where he completed a Higher Certificate in Property Studies within his first two years while gaining extensive practical industry experience.
In 2016 he completed an Honours Degree in Property Valuation and Management at the Technological University of Shannon, Ireland and joined a prominent real estate firm in the south west of Ireland, where he held the positions of Associate Director. In this role, he was actively involved in property sales, lettings, acquisitions, asset management, and valuations, ultimately overseeing a portfolio exceeding 1,000 properties and contributing to the strategic development of the firm’s property management services.
Alongside his industry work, Tony has held lecturing roles at several universities across Ireland and the United Kingdom since 2017.
Tony joined the University of the Built Environment in 2019 as a full-time lecturer. He is highly regarded as a subject expert in property management by his academic colleagues. Tony is also an Assistant Lecturer in Real Estate at Atlantic Technological University, Ireland.
He serves as a Lead Valuer for the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers in Ireland (IPAV), where he advises practitioners on complex valuation matters and undertakes valuation report audits.
Tony graduated from a MSc in real estate Investment Finance in 2023 from Oxford Brookes University.
In 2024 He founded Wallace Real Estate, an independent property consultancy specialising in Property Management and Valuations.
He has written several thought leadership pieces, presented at conferences, published articles in regional and national press and produced webinars and podcasts on the laws relating the property management.
Tony is an Ambassador for the RICS Charity, LionHeart.
